Asia Travel Lab / Information

Editorial Policy

Asia Travel Lab publishes original, decision-led travel planning guides. We organize information around place, season, realistic movement, and cultural context so readers can compare options before committing to a trip.

Research and sources

For booking-critical facts, we prioritize the relevant organizer, tourism authority, transport operator, venue, or public authority. A reseller’s offer can describe a product, but it does not by itself confirm a municipal program, religious observance, permit, or public-access rule.

Our standard is to connect important claims to useful source links and distinguish published facts from editorial suggestions. Research-based guidance is not presented as first-hand travel experience. Where first-hand experience is included, it should be explicitly identified.

Dates and uncertainty

Festival records distinguish confirmed dates, expected or planned periods, information awaiting verification, and past editions. A past edition is retained for context, not presented as an upcoming event. An umbrella festival period does not mean that every venue or activity runs throughout that period.

A source-check date records when a source was reviewed; an article’s updated date records an editorial change. Neither guarantees that every detail is unchanged today. Readers should recheck the exact program, venue, entry rules, transport, and cancellation terms before booking.

Practical recommendations

Routes, suggested bases, and time allocations are editorial planning options, not guaranteed outcomes. Costs need a currency and reference period; estimates should not be mistaken for current quotes. Weather guidance describes likely seasonal conditions, not a forecast for a specific travel day.

Images and cultural context

Our image standard is to identify source and licensing information where required and make archival context clear when a photograph could otherwise imply a current event. Religious practice, local ceremonies, and public celebrations should not be described as interchangeable visitor entertainment.

Updates and corrections

We review guides when a source changes, a planning-critical detail becomes outdated, or a reader reports an issue. Until a replacement detail is verified, uncertainty should remain visible rather than being filled with an assumed date or rule.

To request a correction, use our contact page and include the article URL, the disputed detail, and any current official source. We assess the report before changing the guide.

Advertising and affiliate independence

Advertising and affiliate links may support the site. They do not replace source verification or determine our planning recommendations. Sponsored coverage, if published, should be clearly identified. Read our affiliate disclosure for more information.
